As the culmination of the annual Verdehr Project Commission Project, featuring Renae Dishman (clarinet), Christopher Herz (violin), and Carl Questad (piano), this concert showcases works written for or inspired by the Verdehr Trio. The program includes Trio by Margaret Brouwer, a vibrant and expressive three-movement work; Charles Hoag’s imaginative Inventions on the Summer Solstice, evoking midsummer imagery through inventive musical scenes; Recordando una melodía olvidada by Roberto Sierra, rich with Latin American lyrical nostalgia; and Alan Hovhaness’s evocative Lake Samish, Op. 415, a mystical suite blending Western and Eastern influences.
